Baba's Borscht
Mark Walters: You can make a large pot and eat it day after day without getting tired of it.

3 medium potatoes     cover with water, boil until half-cooked   remove potatoes, mash   combine, simmer. Serve with sour cream
1 bay leaf  
1 beetroot grate   add, heat until cooked    
1 stick celery  
1/4 cabbage chop finely, sprinkle with salt, leave to stand.   add
salt
2 chicken stock cubes  
1 large onion slice   fry
2 cloves garlic grate
1 tablespoon olive oil  
2 tablespoons flour     stir in until browned
1/4 teaspoon chilli sauce     add
1-2 tins chopped tomatoes
