Gingerbread cake
This cake is moist and dark and deliciously spicy. Interestingly, it works very well without ginger.
2 eggs beat   mix Bake in moderate oven 45 minutes. Cool until cake shrinks from sides of tin.
1 1/2 cups golden syrup  
1 cup water boil melt   mix in
1/2 cup butter  
2 cups flour sift   mix well
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder  
1 teaspoon ginger  
1 teaspoon cinnamon  
ground cloves  
Do not cook it all the way until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out completely clean - leave some gooiness.
