These are irresistible with warm milk

1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda   combine Place 1 tablespoon of dough at 4cm intervals on baking sheet, press down lightly. Bake in slow oven 20 minutes.
2 tablespoons water boiling
125g butter melt over low heat   stir in
1 tablespoon honey or golden syrup
1 cup rolled oats mix   stir in while warm
1 cup flour sift
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup dessicated coconut
Lu says to use 1/2 cup sugar rather than one cup, to use quick oats, and to cook for 12 minutes.
The Australian Women's Weekly says to use 2 tablespoons of golden syrup, to use rolled oats not quick oats, and to bake in a slow oven 12 minutes.
